The Making of a Diver is my personal story of how a childhood spent on Delma Island eventually led me to earning my PADI Open Water certification. Growing up beside the sea taught me patience, respect, and confidence in the water, lessons that shaped every part of my diving journey.
In this book, I share what the training was really like: the challenges, the learning curve, and the small details that made the biggest difference, like proper breathing, hydration, and staying calm underwater. I also talk about moments that changed my perspective on the ocean, including taking part in an underwater cleanup in Abu Dhabi.
My goal with this book is simple, to give new divers a clear and honest introduction to diving, written from someone who started the same way. It’s not a technical manual, but a practical and personal guide for anyone preparing to take their first step beneath the surface.
